Edvarda started her artistic life and career at Scoula Internazionale di Grafica in Venice, Italy, at 19. She has a Master’s degree in painting from The National Academy of Fine Arts in Oslo, and a BA in Art History from the University of Oslo. Since the early 1990s, she has exhibited in numerous separate and collective shows in Europe and now Los Angeles.

Throughout her decades-spanning practice, Edvarda has proven herself a knowledgeable curator of references from the vast catalogue of art, drawing heavily upon the world of art history and literature. Towering literary figures such as Sappho, Dostoyevsky, Nabokov, and Homer are key inspirations. The influence of painters like Balthus, Paola Rego, Paul Delvaux, and Tamara de Lempicka has played a major role in her artistic approach to her work, along with old masters like Giotto, Botticelli, and Piero Della Francesca. Likewise, contemporaries such as American artists Matthew Barney, Jeff Koons and Richard Prince have had a profound impact on Edvarda's approach to art and cultural references, and the distinctions between high art and low culture.

In the course of her career, Edvarda has developed a genuine and personal style. Using classic painting techniques, she has created a highly stylized design language informed by the post-modern age. The aesthetics are clean and tidy, and consist of both cultural, religious and sensual codes wrapped up in a beautiful presentation. Her work frequently approaches and subverts the seductive aesthetics of advertising, with the idea of eliminating the shame that's still attached to the notion of a beautiful surface, in order to delve deeper into the meaning beneath it.
